What server do your apps support? I can't get connect with news.wonderfuland.net and my.newsgroup.la. :(
To All, there are some problem with user login and user password. If you have set this in server option, please remove this (enter empty space in login and passwd) first in order to list group.
I will fix it within this week.
P.S. where can I subscribe non-public (鎖谷) in hong kong? except nntp.hk and xddddd.com.

Please uninstall it and redownload it from market again to try.
I believe it's related to login name and password in server options.
Please do not config login and password now until I fix it.

- Fix the problem of HTC hero has no search result in market
- Fix the problem of incorrect char encoding for non-big5 group
- Fix the problem of unable to list group in my.newsgroup.la
終於用到。但第一次出唔到new post，隔幾日第二次先ok。有時會睇唔到d post，會話no message。但明明係有replies。

係吾係話 "Unknown message", 這是因為貼文果個用左香港字 encoding (HKSCS), 會係 android 1.6 或以下 read 吾到個 message. 正在想辦法解決中.

I will deeply retest Android Usenet Reader under android2.1 again tonight.
Btw, I have fix big5-hkscs problem and support thread listing (listing all replied messages in a list).
AUR version 1.4 will be released within today.

I have no android 2.1 phone but I have tested it in 2.1 simulator and cannot reproduce your problem. May I know how to trigger the problem in detail? Which message (which server, which group) will have a 'no message' popup?

如果唔用 Http Compresion 直頭download唔到post
Please do not enter userlogin and password of news.wonderfuland.net in server option.
In hong kong, some usenet server will set password for particular group. However, Android Usenet Reader doesn't support browsing public group and private group on same server. In other word, if you enter user login and password in server option of wonderfuland.net, you can only browse private group. All messages in public group cannot be download.
I will try to fix this issue later.

http compression underly is calling put.hk to get headline message in compressed mode. The original idea is for saving download usage on mobile phone. It save around 70% bandwidth for download 300 headlines.
However, for private group, http compression is not supported.

Usenet Android Reader v1.4 changes log:
1. fine tune database indexing, browsing thread is very slow if total number of messages is greater than 20000. v1.4 improved it a lot.
2. fix the problem of big5-scs problem (Unknow message show in article body) in android 1.6 or below.
3. reset (or delete) server option when delete all messages of a usenet server.
4. add thread browsing in tree-like view. Press 'menu' in article and press 'Thread'. Support jumping to particular message in thread.
5. set the cursor to first position in content text field when replying a message

v1.4 is a big change and is still under testing in my HTC magic before real release.
For you case, please check it carefully if there are any space in user name and password.
Or you simply uninstall AUR 1.3 and re download again from market to try again. But please be noted that all of your group settings and download messages will be lost if you use this method.

我覺得問題可能出響佢唔係 download 最新 "o個" d news度
for example:
我見好似 general.chat 每日過幾千嘅 post,好多時 download 唔倒最新嗰幾百個 post
我的手機要每次出出入入先可以 load 哂 d 舊 post (每次2000 max.) 有冇辦法可以加多個 option 可以當 all post 已read
Remark:
1 用 password group 睇post絕對冇問題,可以寫,可以睇,個 replied post 仲即出.
2 仲未聯絡倒個admin 未同佢講加個 passord group 比你,要等多陣

Unlike outlook express, existing download flow of AUR is to download n messages from the last latest message but not latest n messages. (where n is the max of headline fetch in preference).
I will change it to download latest message like outlook express.

Please goto server option, set the charset to big5.
android 機如果 locale set 左 HK add group 時自動將個 encoding set 左做 big5.
mythings.hk都係出唔到post

Please let me know more about your situation.
1. Which phone are you using? What's your OS platform? 1.5? 1.6? 2.0? 2.1?
2. Are you using wifi to connect mythings.hk? Can you use other android reader to post article in mythings.hk?
3. Have you set User Login and Password in server option?
4. What is your locale? phone language?
Sorry about that I cannot dig out the cause.
Are you know java / android? It would be great if you can use DDMS to capture the underlying error and copy and paste to me for investigation.

你好! 我是用HTC desire的.
usenet reader能夠post相去newsgroup實在非常好用,
所以有兩個小提議:
1~
desire影既相大過1m
usenet因為不能自動resize
而很多newsgroup都不能出大過1m既post
所以就唔可以即影即post ....... ><"
2~
如果能夠Multitouch放大縮細,就能更清楚看到post裏面的圖了 !!!
